Statues of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il were erected at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School on the occasion of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star). An unveiling ceremony was held with splendor on Saturday. The dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un was present at the ceremony.
Also present there were Choe Yong Rim, Choe Ryong Hae, Jang Song Thaek, Hyon Yong Chol, Kim Kyok Sik, Kim Kyong Hui, Kim Ki Nam, Kim Yong Chun, Ri Yong Mu, O Kuk Ryol, Hyon Chol Hae, Kim Jong Gak, and officials of the party and armed forces organs, staff members and students of the school and its graduates, officials of units and military academies at all levels, service personnel of the KPA, military family members and officials and employees of the units who contributed to the erection of the statues and Pyongyangites.
Choe Yong Rim, Choe Ryong Hae, Jang Song Thaek and others unveiled the statues. Laid before them was a floral basket bearing the august name of Marshal Kim Jong Un. Laid there then were a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea and the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and a floral basket in the name of the school.
Floral baskets were also placed in the name of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, the General Staff of the KPA, the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces and units and sub-units of the KPA at all levels and military academies.
All the participants paid tribute to the Generalissimos in humblest reverence. KPA Vice Marshal Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, made a speech there.

Kim Jong Il deemed it as an important work for giving steady continuity to the bloodline of revolution to educate the children of revolutionary martyrs from the first day of his revolutionary leadership and paid deep attention to the work of the school in the grim days of leading to victory the confrontation with the U.S. and the struggle for defending socialism under the uplifted banner of Songun.
It was the unanimous desire of all teachers and pupils of the school and service personnel of the KPA to erect the statue of Kim Jong Il at the school where people erected Kim Il Sung's statue for the first time in Korea at the initiative of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk who took into consideration the ardent desire of the schoolers to see Kim Il Sung every day.
The ardent desire of the teachers and pupils and all service personnel has become a brilliant reality thanks to the intense loyalty and meticulous guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un.
Rosy is the future of the children of revolutionary martyrs, the speaker said, calling for waging a dynamic struggle to reunify the country and accomplish the Juche-based revolutionary cause of Songun under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, the banner of eternal victory of the great Paektusan nation, as befitting the descendants of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the soldiers and disciples of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il.

Moranbong Band Continues New Year Performance
A New Year performance "Following the Party to the End" is being continuously given with splendor by the Moranbong Band in Pyongyang, instilling confidence in the final victory into the servicepersons and people greeting the New Year.
The venue of the performance was full of excited audience who received the historic New Year Address made by the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, great brilliant commander of Mt. Paektu, with immense pride of successfully launching a satellite under his leadership.
Among the audience were officials of the fields of science and technology including the State Academy of Sciences, teachers and researchers of educational institutions including Kim Il Sung Military University and Kim Il Sung Political University, officials of ministries and national institutions and Pyongyangites.
The performance began with the National Anthem. Put on the stage were colorful pieces including female chorus "The Glorious Motherland", light music and song "May Snow Fall on New Year's Day" and light music and serial songs "Songs Looking up to the General".
The feelings of strong yearning for the peerlessly great men pervaded the auditorium whenever their benevolent images were shown on the background.
The audience admired the refined artistic representation, active performing that led to natural combination of the performers and the audience, grand and rich sound, beautiful stage decoration and peculiar lighting.
The performance ended with the epilogue "May Snow Fall on New Year's Day" amid cheers by the audience.

Kim Jong Un Enjoys Extravaganza 'Arirang'

Among the audience were senior officials of the party, state and army Choe Ryong Hae, Hyon Yong Chol and others, chairperson of a friendly party and officials of the party, armed forces and power bodies, social organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials in the fields of science, education, literature and arts, public health and media, labor innovators and working people in Pyongyang.
Present on invitation were overseas compatriots, the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, diplomatic envoys of various countries and representatives of international organizations and members of the foreign military attaches corps here and their spouses and foreign guests.
The performance impressively made a grand epic representation of the past in which a definite end was put to the distress-torn history of the nation and the present of Songun Korea in which its dignity has been placed on the highest level thanks to the peerlessly great leaders and its eternal prosperity.
The extravaganza staged in vast three-dimensional space was a perfect combination of graceful and spectacular rhythms, dynamic gymnastics, refined artistic representation rich in national flavor, ever-changing background, gorgeous stage decor and peculiar lighting, etc. It clearly showcased the inexhaustible strength and skill of the Korean people and the rapid development of Juche arts.
At the end of the performance fireworks were displayed in succession, beautifully decorating the nocturnal sky of Pyongyang.
Kim Jong Un waved back to the enthusiastic cheers of the performers and audience and congratulated the former on their successful performance.
He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that "Arirang" was successfully re-represented in fresh style in reflection of the need of the developing era and the desire of the people. He extended thanks to the performers and creators.

Kim Il Sung. The extravaganza staged more than 420 times over the last decade has been watched by at least 13 million service personnel, working people and youth and students and over 180 000 overseas compatriots and south Koreans and foreigners.
