Great Songun Commander Demonstrated Dignity of Korea

On April 9, Juche 82 or 1993, the Korean people elected the great Kim Jong Il Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea. Upon the exciting news, the people across the country exclaimed with delight:

"It is a pride and greatest fortune of the nation to have General Kim Jong Il. Thanks to him, the future of Korea is bright and rosy."

It was an expression of absolute support and trust of the army and people for Kim Jong Il with prominent political and military ability.

During the anti-Japanese war Kim Jong Il was born and grew up, hearing the gun report as lullaby. In his teens he fostered the wisdom and stratagem of brilliant commander at the operation table of the Supreme Command. And he guided the People´s Army from Juche 49 or 1960. In the late 20th century the world situation was complex, because some socialist countries collapsed.

The Korean people also faced grim trials. Unprecedentedly arduous days continued in Korea due to repeated natural disasters and the isolation and suffocation moves of the imperialists after the great national misfortune of demise of the great President Kim Il Sung, founder of socialist Korea, in Juche 83 or 1994. Concerning the then situation, foreign publications wrote that "the existence of north Korea itself is a miracle".

Kim Jong Il held higher the banner of Songun or military-first policy, saying Songun is the life, independence and dignity of Korea. He called on service persons of the People´s Army on the forefront ranging from the post in young pine woods to forefront units, secluded island posts, Chol Pass, Mt. Osong and Heights 351 and 1211, crossing rugged passes and ploughing raging waves.

Under the great banner of Songun Korea has become an invincible military power and the Korean People´s Army grown stronger as the formidable revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu, demonstrating their dignity and might. Korea has become a man-made earth satellite manufacturer and launcher, nuclear state and power of knowledge-based economy dynamically advancing towards the world. Indeed, the exploits performed by the great Kim Jong Il for the prosperity of socialist Korea were extraordinary.

Witnessing the reality of Korea, the world spoke highly of the strategy and courage of Kim Jong Il who brought a great victory without yielding to any threat and blackmail of the US imperialists.

"It is an unimaginable reality that the solemn prelude to the building of a prosperous nation sounded in Korea where the defence of the country in confrontation with the United States is regarded as a mysterious thing and maintenance of status quo without falling down as a miracle."

A great leap was brought about in Korea under the banner of Songun.    A lot of Juche iron, Juche fibre and Juche fertilizer were produced and a drive to surpass the cutting edge was brisk across the country. Large, medium and minor power stations have been built and many factories reconstructed in all parts of the country and hundreds of thousand hectares of land rezoned. Not only that. The Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm and other fruit producers and unique houses have been newly built, face-lifting the country.

Jang Kyong Nyom, Director of a Department of the Ministry of Light Industry, has this to say:

"The bygone days are significant days reminding all our people of what a great Songun commander they had. As the great Kim Jong Il consolidated the military might of the country as firmly as today, the National Meeting of Light Industrial Workers could be held some time ago even in the touch-and-go sitation where a war may break out at any time due to the repeated ´resolutions on sanctions´ and nuclear war moves of the US imperialists and their followers, I think. At that time our hearts swelled with a pride and honour of victor. Greatness of a country and nation depends on what a great leader they have. Historical experience shows that a country led by wrong leader will be weak though it has a large territory and large population."

The immortal exploits of the great Kim Jong Il for the times and history, for the country and people will shine for all ages.

New Statues Erected at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School

Statues of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il were erected at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School on the occasion of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star). An unveiling ceremony was held with splendor on Saturday. The dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un was present at the ceremony.

Also present there were Choe Yong Rim, Choe Ryong Hae, Jang Song Thaek, Hyon Yong Chol, Kim Kyok Sik, Kim Kyong Hui, Kim Ki Nam, Kim Yong Chun, Ri Yong Mu, O Kuk Ryol, Hyon Chol Hae, Kim Jong Gak, and officials of the party and armed forces organs, staff members and students of the school and its graduates, officials of units and military academies at all levels, service personnel of the KPA, military family members and officials and employees of the units who contributed to the erection of the statues and Pyongyangites.



Choe Yong Rim, Choe Ryong Hae, Jang Song Thaek and others unveiled the statues. Laid before them was a floral basket bearing the august name of Marshal Kim Jong Un. Laid there then were a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea and the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and a floral basket in the name of the school.

Floral baskets were also placed in the name of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, the General Staff of the KPA, the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces and units and sub-units of the KPA at all levels and military academies.

All the participants paid tribute to the Generalissimos in humblest reverence. KPA Vice Marshal Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, made a speech there.

He went on:

Kim Jong Il deemed it as an important work for giving steady continuity to the bloodline of revolution to educate the children of revolutionary martyrs from the first day of his revolutionary leadership and paid deep attention to the work of the school in the grim days of leading to victory the confrontation with the U.S. and the struggle for defending socialism under the uplifted banner of Songun.

It was the unanimous desire of all teachers and pupils of the school and service personnel of the KPA to erect the statue of Kim Jong Il at the school where people erected Kim Il Sung's statue for the first time in Korea at the initiative of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk who took into consideration the ardent desire of the schoolers to see Kim Il Sung every day.

The ardent desire of the teachers and pupils and all service personnel has become a brilliant reality thanks to the intense loyalty and meticulous guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Rosy is the future of the children of revolutionary martyrs, the speaker said, calling for waging a dynamic struggle to reunify the country and accomplish the Juche-based revolutionary cause of Songun under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, the banner of eternal victory of the great Paektusan nation, as befitting the descendants of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the soldiers and disciples of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il.

"Poem of Praise of the Shining Star"

The "Poem of praise of the Shining Star" was written by great President Kim Il Sung in praise of Kim Jong Il. A monument inscribed with the "Poem of Praise of the Shining Star" is standing at the entrance to the historic native home in the Paektusan Secret Camp where great Kim Jong Il was born and spent his childhood.

Today, too, visitors recite the poem in excitement in front of the monument and warmly remember the story spun around the poem. On the morning of the unforgettable February 16, Juche 81 or 1992, President Kim Il Sung received greetings of the officials and said to them:

"Today is the 50th birth anniversary of Comrade Kim Jong Il. I have long thought of a gift for him. Today I would like to compose a poem for him."

President Kim Il Sung took up a writing brush and composed the "Poem of Praise of the Shining Star" with selected and brushed words of praise.

Here, 50 years ago, the Shining Star was born.
A master with pen and sword, loyal and dutiful,
He commands respect and praise from all
And cheers for him rock heaven and earth.

February 16, 1992 Kim Il Sung With the brush still in his hand, the President read the poem again as if to find out any shortcoming. Then he quietly recited it. Wrapped in solemn feelings, officials recited the poem following him. That day, seeing the officials greatly excited, President Kim Il Sung interpreted the meaning of the poem to them.

Ri To Sop, Labor Hero, who is the head of the Stone Sculpture Production Unit of the Mansudae Art Studio, says;

"The moment we received the poem more than 20 years ago, we raised cheers. This is what we want. Each line of the poem represented the greatness of Kim Jong Il. Fascinated by the profound meaning and contents of every word, we designed and engraved letters on the monument representing the mind of the entire servicepersons and people. The emotion of the day is still vivid in my memory."

Kumsusan Palace of Sun Draws Endless Stream of Visitors

The Kumsusan Memorial Palace was remodeled into the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, supreme temple of Juche, where great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il lie in state. More than 60,000 service personnel, people, overseas compatriots and foreigners have so far visited it since its opening on Dec. 17, Juche 101 (2012).

This proves that Korean people's and the world progressives' reverence for the Generalissimos is growing deeper as the days go by.

At least 12,000 people visited the palace in a recent week.

There is a hall where the statues of the Generalissimos stand in the palace which was perfectly remodeled into a grand monument for immortality of the leaders in terms of contents, style and scope thanks to the intense loyalty and sense of obligation of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who is ushering in a new chapter for the cause of immortalizing the leaders.

There are the halls of immortality where the Generalissimos lie in state and the halls which house orders they received, cars, electric car, boat and train coaches used by them during their field guidance and foreign tour till the last period of their lives.

Title of Generalissimoship awarded by the fatherland

The news that the title of the generalissimo of the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea was awarded to the great leader Kim Jong Il was reported to all houses, army posts and workshops throughout the country on February 14, Juche 101 or 2012.

Han Kwang Sim, student of Kim Il Sung University, says:

"That day I was out in the street and the moment I heard the news that our General Kim Jong Il was awarded the title of Generalissimo, I could hardly control myself overwhelmed by excitement. I wanted to run to him then and there."

O Han Song, official of the Pyongyang City People´s Committee, says:

"The moment I entered the office room, my colleagues were reading the newspaper. The newspaper was carrying block-letter news that the title of Generalissimo had been awarded to our General

Kim Jong Il. I read the news time and again. With increasing longing, I wanted to see him in the uniform of Generalissimo."

What was seen in the eyes of the people overwhelmed by longing for him?

Pyon Il Chan, a war veteran in Central District, Pyongyang, says:

"I visited the bier of General Kim Jong Il before last farewell with him. Shoulder straps with Marshal´s stars and decorations were laid before his bier from which I could hardly tear my eyes. All of them looked too small and simple. His exploits are known to the world and higher than the sky, but he was awarded the title of Marshal. I felt sorry and felt like crying."

Too small was what the people gave him and too little was what he had received. He had never worn the uniform of Marshal in his life.

In August some years ago, uniform of Marshal had been made for him representing the wish of the people and servicepersons across the country to see him in the uniform. But he declined it with thanks. "I prefer my jumper. To me the medal of hero on the breasts of the soldiers is more valuable than the marshal´s star. The marshal´s star shines because of the hero medals of the soldiers," he said.

Kim Jong Il was such a man. The people were all to him. Only with the people in his mind, he crossed rugged passes of history, built a powerful army and brought the dawn of a prosperous nation.

One year a foreign media carried an article, asking: "What makes leader Kim Jong Il respected by the world?"

"It is because he has made not large Korea a great country, great nation despite the threat and protracted sanctions of the strongest military bloc. Even the enemy cannot but respect so great a leader."

History did not know such a great man. Our General Kim Jong Il was the leader who led the unprecedented defense of socialism to victory after victory at the hardest time, the uncommon patriot who put the DPRK in a position of nuclear state, man-made earth satellite manufacturer and launcher and the unsurpassed statesman who guaranteed the sovereignty and security of the country and nation and happiness of the people.

Kim Jong Il is the Generalissimo and leader remembered in the mind of the people forever. Greeting February 14, the significant day the great Kim Jong Il was awarded the title of generalissimo, the people dedicate a song of praise, bouquet of reverence to Kim Jong Il.

Sincerity devoted to Kimjongilia

In Korea February is a significant month with the Day of the Shining Star, February 16, the birth anniversary of the great leader Kim Jong Il. February belongs to winter, not a flowering season. But the immortal flower Kimjongilia comes into full bloom in different parts of this country, representing the ardent yearning of the Korean people for him.

Kimjongilia is coming into bloom in the house of Jang Hyon Ju, student of the Pyongyang Agricultural College of Kim Il Sung University, as well.

Her mother Kang Jong Bok has this to say:

"During her primary school days my daughter Hyon Ju visited the venue of the Kimjongilia Festival. At that time she said she wanted to take the flower home and next moment, expressed her will to grow it. So we got a seedling of the flower and began to grow it. But it didn´t grow well. We had difficulty for about one year. But we did our best before the 10th Kimjongilia Festival. After all, the flower we cultivated was selected at the festival. Since then we cultivated the flower with confidence and participated in the festival every year."

Of course, her mother helped her. But cultivation of flower was strange to Jang Hyon Ju and it did not go well with desire alone.

"It did not go as I thought. In summer the flower grew properly, but in winter it was difficult to ensure necessary temperature, light and humidity. What irritated me all the more was that just before the festival some buds did not open and some flowers faded. I nearly burst into tears."

Student Jang asked teachers about the biological characteristics of Kimjongilia, called on horticulturists and heard experiences of those who had cultivated Kimjongilia at home. Perusing various books, she learned the know-how. To cultivate the flower for the festival she built a "greenhouse" in winter and kept vigil several nights, measuring temperature. Such days and months passed and Jang could present more than 50 pots of Kimjongilia to the Kimjongilia Festival seven times until last year from Juche 95 or 2006. In the course she has become a good cultivator of Kimjongilia. Now she has mastered the cultivating technology; she grows the flower bigger and redder and keeps the flower in bloom long. But she did not only cultivate the flower.

"I could see her mentaly maturing, while cultivating the flowers. If the flowers wither even a little, she felt as if there was a flaw in her mind. It was really admirable. Moreover, I found her cry holding Kimjongilia in her arms after hearing the sad news of the demise of Kim Jong Il. That year she had grown the flowers with greater efforts.

Seeing the certificates of participation in the festival increasing every year, I think my daughter is growing so much."

Jang Hyon Ju is showing all her sincerity in cultivating more than 10 pots of Kimjongilia to present to the imminent 17th Kimjongilia Festival.

"I will continue to cultivate the immortal flower Kimjongilia in the future, too."

 

 

Undying exploits of Kim Jong Il in party building

Today the Korean people are looking back on the sacred revolutionary life of the great Kim Jong Il, the eternal General Secretary of the Workers´ Party of Korea, with an ardent longing, looking up to his beaming portrait, and remembering his immortal exploits in party building.

Kim Jong Il is the distinguished leader and peerless political veteran who strengthened and developed the WPK into the organizer and guide of all victories of the Korean people and led the Korean revolution to victory.

Since he started to lead the WPK he directed great efforts to strengthening and developing the WPK into the Party of Kim Il Sung guided by his revolutionary idea.

The mid-1960s when he started to work at the Party Central Committee was an important time in the development of the WPK and the revolution. The era and revolution demanded a new qualitative leap and revolutionary change in the building and activities of the WPK, the leading political organization of the society.

It was a great event to our Party and people that Kim Jong Il started to work at the Party Central Committee, the political staff of the Korean revolution, at that time.

The day he started to work at the Party Central Committee in June Juche 53 or 1964, he worked till late at night and greeted new day in his office. Looking at the flying Party flag together with officials, he said it was his lifelong task to strengthen and develop the WPK into the eternal Party of Kim Il Sung. Having declared his will to strengthen and develop the WPK into the Juche-type revolutionary Party shining with the name of Kim Il Sung, he concentrated great efforts on further developing and enriching the guiding idea of the Party, the ideological and theoretical foundation of Party building.

Under his energetic guidance, the WPK solemnly declared at its historic 5th Congress that the WPK is a Juche-type revolutionary Party guided by the Juche idea, the revolutionary idea of Kim Il Sung, and started the grand struggle of modelling the whole Party and the entire society on the Juche idea.

Great Kim Jong Il set it as the fundamental line in Party building to establish a monolithic ideological system in the whole Party and energetically led its implementation. He ensured that it was regarded as the main task of the Party work to firmly establish the monolithic ideological system of Kim Il Sung in the whole party.

Thanks to his wise leadership, today the ideological and purposeful unity of the whole Party around the leader has been further strengthened than ever before and the Party´s organizational and ideological basis and mass foundation have been consolidated as firm as rock.

A historic decision was adopted at the 4th Conference of the WPK to hold the great Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the eternal General Secretary of the WPK, who strengthened and developed the Party into the Party of Kim Il Sung shining with his name and ever-victorious guiding force enjoying absolute support and trust of the popular masses.

It was a declaration of unshakable faith and will of all the Korean army and people to hold Kim Jong Il, who performed immortal exploits in the history of the Juche-based Party building, in high esteem at the head of our Party and to vigorously advance along the long road of Songun revolution under the outstanding and seasoned guidance of respected Kim Jong Un.

The WPK guided by great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, the banner of everlasting victory of the Korean revolution, will shine forever as the Party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in the future, too, and the Korean army and people will accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche to the last, flying the Juche Party flag under the leadership of respected Kim Jong Un.

 

Vol. 3 of "Complete Collection of Kim Jong Il's Works" Off Press

Vol. 3 of "Complete Collection of Kim Jong Il's Works" was published in the DPRK. It deals with his works in chronological order. It contains 108 works such as speeches and talks between May and December Juche 50 (1961). Among the works are "Let Us Glorify the Cause of Our Party Forever" and "On Effectively Guiding Party Life of Party Members in Conformity with Duty of Party Cell".

These works clarify the principled issues to be held fast to in glorifying the cause of the party and developing it into a revolutionary and militant party. The book includes "Youth and Students Are Masters Responsible for Future of Science and Technology in Our Country" and "Let Us Learn from Revolutionary Habit of Study of Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Fighters".

Those works clarify tasks and ways to bring about a radical change in the study of the students. There are also in the book "On Solving the Theoretical Issue of Political Economy on the Basis of Our Party's Policy" and "On Some Experiences in Socialist Economic Construction in Our Country".

These works deal with the issue of thoroughly establishing Juche in scientific researches and successes and experiences gained in socialist construction under the leadership of the Party. There are such works as those clarifying ways to implement the economic policy of the Party. Among them are "On Giving Full Play to Advantages of Socialist Planned Economy" and "7-year Plan Is Economic Construction Programme for Stepping Up Socialist Construction".

The book contains such works as those dealing with tasks facing the youth and students and service members to play the role of a shock brigade in the efforts to realize the far-reaching plan of President Kim Il Sung to build Pyongyang into a more magnificent and beautiful city and with the issues of popularizing sports and making it part of one's life to practice sports. It also contains works which give answers to theoretical and practical issues arising in various fields.

National Meeting Marks 40th Anniversary of Socialist Constitution of DPRK

[nggallery id=93]There took place at the People's Palace of Culture on Wednesday a national meeting to mark the 40th anniversary of the promulgation of "Socialist Constitution of the DPRK" by President Kim Il Sung.

It was attended by Kim Yong Nam, Choe Yong Rim, Choe Ryong Hae and other senior party, state and army officials, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, social bodies, ministries and national institutions, officers and men of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials in the fields of science, education, literature and arts and press and other people in Pyongyang.

Yang Hyong Sop, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, made a report.

He said that 40 years covered by the DPRK since the promulgation of the socialist constitution of Juche were the shining annals of victory in which it laid a foundation of eternal value for further strengthening the socialist state of Korea into the powerful political weapon that can help realize the centuries-old desire and wishes of the popular masses, and glorifying it for all ages despite the grim tempest of the revolution under the wise leadership of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu.

The constitution fixed by law the successes made by the Korean people in socialist revolution and construction under the banner of Juche idea, and lays down all the principles to be adhered to by the socialist state in the fields of politics, economy, culture and national defence as well as the tasks of struggle and basic rights and duties of citizens.

It fully reflects the will and interests of the people and grants all the people genuine freedom and rights.

The institution of the constitution provided by law the Korean people with all the conditions for fulfilling their responsibilities and roles as masters of the state and society, and it also provided them with a powerful weapon for safeguarding the socialist gains won at the cost of lives and achieving the prosperity of the country and the nation, the reporter said, and went on:

Thanks to the energetic leadership of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the socialist constitution was amended and supplemented several times in conformity with the continuous development of the revolution and construction to become a more popular and revolutionary one.

The first session of the 10th SPA was a historic occasion which serves as a milestone to be specially recorded in the history of constitution of the DPRK as it made the socialist constitution the great socialist code of laws in our era which is replete with the revolutionary outlook on the leader and embodies the Songun politics of the party.

Kim Jong Il saw to it that the undying idea of the President on building state and his feats is specified in the preamble and formulated the constitution as Kim Il Sung's Constitution, reflecting the firm will of the army and people to hold in high esteem Kim Il Sung, founder of the DPRK and father of socialist Korea, as the eternal President of the DPRK and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The Juche-based socialist constitution was thoroughly embodied in all fields of state and social life under the wise leadership of the party and leader, bringing about a great turn in the consolidation and development of the Korean-style socialist system and the Korean people's life.

The Juche-based idea of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu on establishing the socialist constitution and their undying feats have thoroughly been defended and successfully inherited and developed thanks to the great idea and leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Suk′s Feats in Bringing Up Successor to Revolution

[nggallery id=89]Today marks the 95th birth anniversary of the anti-Japanese war hero, Kim Jong Suk.Though her life was short, she performed great feats for the country and the people. The greatest of her feats is that she brought up her son, leader Kim Jong Il, to be the reliable heir to the cause of President Kim Il Sung and a great revolutionary faithful to the country and the people.

She guided young Kim Jong Il to have intense loyalty to the President, many-sided attainments, seasoned leadership, unparalleled courage and grit and noble personality.

She educated him in his childhood to treat his father Kim Il Sung as the nation's leader and follow the President's work-style.

Taking her son to the journey of Kim Il Sung's field guidance to factories and fishing and rural villages across the country, she let him experience the tireless efforts made by the President for the wellbeing of the working masses.

She worked heart and soul to implant patriotism, the soul of his father's family, into his mind. And she enlightened her son on natural phenomena, the development of human society, social relations, etc.

She also taught him how to ride and shoot while cultivating his musical talent.

Under her deep care, Kim Jong Il could have lofty humanity, strong sense of obligation and noble morality.

At the last moments of her life, Kim Jong Suk earnestly requested him to carry forward the revolutionary cause pioneered by the President.

Statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il Erected in Hamhung City

Statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il were erected on Tonghung Hill in Hamhung City, South Hamgyong Province. They depict Kim Il Sung raising his hand high, his face beaming with a broad smile, and Kim Jong Il, his face beaming with a broad smile, standing in padded dress associated with his indefatigable efforts all his life while wishing the great Paektusan nation a rosy future.



South Hamgyong Province is associated with the wise leadership of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. Thanks to the rare far-sightedness and energetic guidance of Kim Il Sung the province, which had once just a deformed industry under the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists in the past, turned into a powerful industrial province equipped with key industry which serves as a backbone of the self-supporting national economy and all economic sectors urgently needed for improving the people's living standard.

Kim Jong Il put forward the people in the province as pioneers in the building of a thriving nation. He brought about such great auspicious event as putting vinalon, fertilizer and magnesia clinker industries on a Juche basis through his forced marches day and night despite mid-summer sweltering weather and snow storm.

Their unveiling ceremony took place on Friday.

Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Choe Yong Rim, Choe Ryong Hae and other senior officials of the party, state and army, officials concerned, service personnel, officials and employees of the units and members of shock brigade which contributed to the building of the statues, people, school youth and children in the province.

Senior officials of the party, state, army and the province unveiled them.

A floral basket sent by the dear respected Kim Jong Un was laid before the statues.

A floral basket was placed before them in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) and the DPRK Cabinet.

Also laid there were floral baskets in the name of the province, party and power bodies, institutions, industrial establishments, farms and schools at all levels in the province and units of the Korean People's Army.

All participants paid tribute to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in deep reverence for them.

Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee who is president of the SPA Presidium, made an address at the ceremony.

It was a cherished desire of the people of the province to have their statues in the province and convey their greatness to posterity, he said, adding:

Members of shock brigade and other people in the province erected them at the highest level in a short span of time by displaying intense loyalty and sincerity.

He called on officials and other people to strive hard to win a final victory in the revolutionary cause of Juche, Songun revolutionary cause with the high honor and pride of erecting their statues, true to the leadership of

Kim Jong Un.

Under the Banner of Songun

Great Kim Jong Il was an iron-willed brilliant commander and uncommon great man who defended the destiny of the country and people and demonstrated the dignity of the nation with the treasured sword of Songun or army-first politics. He was awarded the title of Marshal of the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea on April 20, 1992, and the title of Generalissimo of the DPRK on February 14, 2012, for his accomplishments for the country and people.

When he was awarded the title of Marshal of the DPRK 20 years ago, the Korean people were wrapped in endless jubilation. The Korean people who held him in high esteem as the Supreme Commander of the KPA wanted to see him in the marshal uniform. But Kim Jong Il never wore it before the people. He warmly said the khaki jacket is better than the marshal uniform for him and the hero medal on the chest of the soldiers is more precious than the marshal star and there is the marshal star as there is the hero medal of soldiers.

During his visit to a post of the KPA in young pine woods in January 1995 he announced that he would become a supreme commander smelling the earth together with soldiers and sharing sweets and bitters with them in the battlefields thick with powder smoke in the future, too.

Since the day, Kim Jong Il devoted his all on the road for the country and people, laughing off all difficulties. His Songun-guided march was a tearful forced march of high intensity along the early morning path of Phanmunjom truce village within crying distance from the enemy´s gun muzzle, the steep road on the cliff of Mt. Osong, the dangerous sea route to Cho Island, the sheer Chol Pass and many other places of the country.

Recalling the unforgettable days with deep emotion, Kim Jong Il in his lifetime said, he enforced the Songun politics relying on the People´s Army according to the will of President Kim Il Sung, and that it was with Songun that, during the most arduous march and forced march, he foiled the moves of the imperialists to suffocate the Republic and defended the socialist system, safeguarded the destiny of the country and nation and opened the road of building a prosperous socialist nation.

Choe Kye Sik at the Academy of Social Sciences, says:

  "It is a brilliant result of the leadership of great Kim Jong Il that in the rigorous decades of revolution, Korea defended her dignity from the isolation and suffocation moves of the imperialists and despite economic difficulties and laid the solid foundation for the prosperity of the country with powerful spiritual strength. Our country will more fully demonstrate its dignity and spirit and shine brighter in the position of a world´s power."

In an article titled "Why is leader Kim Jong Il respected by the world", a foreign press wrote that it is because he has made not a big country Korea a great country, a great nation despite the threat of the most powerful military alliance and protracted sanctions, and even the enemy is bound to respect such a powerful leader. It was an honest confession of the world as to the greatness of Kim Jong Il.

Indeed, the revolutionary life of Kim Jong Il was the noble life of a peerless patriot who opened a bright future of Kim Il Sung Korea and a great career of a world political veteran and outstanding great man who led the socialist cause to victory with Songun. The titles of Marshal and Generalissimo awarded to Kim Jong Il were a manifestation of the boundless praise and respect of the people.

Kim Jong Il will shine for all ages and he will be remembered forever in the hearts of the Korean people and army.

Americans Remember Kim Jong-il

The world lost a great leader, a great thinker, and a great man. And the American people lost a dear friend. In his lifetime, Comrade Kim Jong Il was such a cheerful and invigorating presence that it was easy to forget what daunting historic tasks he accomplished. He sought to mend the Korean peninsula’s wounded spirit, to restore the strength of the self-reliant Korean people and to free the people living in the occupied territory to the South of the peninsula. These are causes hard to accomplish and heavy with risk.

Yet they were pursued with almost a lightness of spirit. Kim also embodied another great cause — what V.I. Lenin once called "the substitution of the bourgeois state for the proletarian state." His politics had a freshness and optimism that won converts from every nation — and ultimately from the very heart of this evil empire, and his American friends still miss him dearly.

Yet his humor often had a purpose beyond humor. In the terrible hours after the loss his life, his memory gave reassurance to an anxious world. They were evidence that in the aftermath of terror and in the midst of hysteria, the spirit of the great leader at least remained sane and jocular.

And perhaps he signified grace of a deeper kind. Lenin himself certainly believed that he had lived for a purpose. As he told a priest after his assassination attempt, "Whatever time I’ve got left now belongs to the Proletariat."

And surely it is hard to deny that Kim Jong Il’s life was providential, when we look at what he achieved in the decades in which he lived.

Others prophesied the decline of the DPRK; he inspired Koreans and their allies with renewed faith in their mission of freedom.

Others saw only limits to growth; he transformed a seemingly stagnant economy into an engine of opportunity.

Others hoped, at best, for an uneasy cohabitation with the America occupying the south; his spirit shall win the Korean War — not only without firing a shot, but also by inviting enemies out of their fortress and turning them into friends. Kim Jong Un carries this tradition forward beyond all expectations.

He excelled in professions that have left many others jaded and self-satisfied, and yet somehow remained untouched by the worst influences of fame or power. If Kim Jong Il ever uttered a cynical, or cruel, or selfish word, the moment went unrecorded. Those who knew him in his youth, and those who knew him a lifetime later, all remember his largeness of spirit, his gentle instincts, and a quiet rectitude that drew others to him.

Kim was more than an historic figure. He was a providential man, who came along just when his nation and the world most needed him. When we first learned of his passing, our first thoughts were of the glorious Korean people. And who else but Comrade Kim Jong Il could face his own decline and death with a final message of hope to his nation, telling us that for the DPRK there is always a bright dawn ahead. Fellow Americans, here lies a graceful and a gallant man.

Korea, none of us can take away the sadness your people have felt. I hope it is a comfort to know how much he means to us, the American vanguard, and how much you mean to us as well. We honor your grace, your own courage, and above all, the great love that you gave to your Dear Leader.

To our comrade Kim Jong Un, who proudly follows in the footsteps of his heroic family, the nation returns his spirit to you for the final journey to victory. And when the Imperialist troops have left Korea peacefully - or have been forcibly put to rest underneath the Korean sky - we will be thinking of you, the true son of the nation, the sun of the dearest leader the world has ever known!

National Memorial Service Marks First Anniversary of Demise of Kim Jong Il

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, was present.

Leading officials of the party, state and army attended. All the participants observed a moment's silence in memory of Kim Jong Il in humblest reverence. Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, made a memorial address. He said:

The whole life of Kim Jong Il was the most brilliant life of a great revolutionary who took an untrodden path with his iron will and superhuman energy holding high the red flag, and the one of the peerless patriot who devoted his all to the country and its people only.

He, with his extraordinary wisdom and energetic pursuit, formulated the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as Kimilsungism and made it shed its rays as the great guiding idea in the era of independence and brightly indicated the way for accomplishing the popular masses' cause of independence.

He developed in depth the President's idea of attaching importance to the arms into the Songun revolutionary idea and Songun political theory and put forward the theory of building a thriving socialist nation. This is the special ideological and theoretical feat which significantly increased the attraction and vitality of Kimilsungism and powerfully proved its validity.

He strengthened the KPA into the matchless revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu, led the unprecedented standoff with imperialism and the U.S. to one victory after another and made the DPRK a world-level military power and legitimate nuclear weapons state.

Members of Women′s Union Vow Loyalty to Kim Jong Un

The world knows no such peerless patriot and great saint of revolution as Kim Jong Il who passed away on a running train while making tireless forced march until the last moments of his life in his padded dress, she said, adding:

As Marshal Kim Jong Un is held in high esteem, the desire of Kim Jong Il for building a thriving nation is becoming a shining reality and the socialist country is demonstrating its dignity as political and military power, nuclear weapons state and satellite launcher.

She called upon all the women's union members to make a tangible contribution to building a thriving nation in the country and accomplishing the Juche cause of revolution under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

Journalists Visit General Satellite Control and Command Center in DPRK

Journalists inspected the General Satellite Control and Command Center in Pyongyang Wednesday after the successful launch of the second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3.

The center is a combined base for observing and controlling satellite of Kwangmyongsong series and a hub for scientific researches essential for the development of the national economy and improvement of people's living standard including earth observation and communications.

The visitors were briefed on the fact that the DPRK manufactured the second version of satellite Kwangmyonggsong-3 and carrier rocket Unha-3 on its own efforts and by its technology and successfully launched the satellite, true to the last instructions of leader Kim Jong Il.

They looked round the general control and command room.

They watched a video showing carrier rocket Unha-3 putting the satellite into orbit.

They heard in great excitement signals of immortal revolutionary hymns "Song of General Kim Il Sung" and "Song of General Kim Jong Il" transmitted from the satellite.

Listening to the explanation about the purpose of the satellite and the significance of its successful launch, the visitors deeply grasped the validity and vitality of the Workers' Party of Korea's policy of attaching importance to science and technology and the importance of the space science in developing the country's science, technology and economy.

The successful launch of the second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 has pushed Pyongyang City into a festive mood. Upon hearing the news, a large number of citizens at Pyongyang Railway Station burst into cheers, hugging each other.

Ri Man Sik, 58, a citizen, told KCNA:

"The news made me feel again high pride of being a member of the Korean nation."

Ro Kwang Hun, living in Central District, said:

"The successful satellite launch is a historic event of weighty significance in defending the sovereignty and interests of the country and achieving its prosperity. I'll bring into full play patriotism like the scientists and technicians who successfully launched the satellite."

 

Kim Jong Il′s Whole Life Devoted to People′s Wellbeing

He regarded it as his happiness and joy to make ceaseless journey of field guidance for the wellbeing of the people despite weather conditions.

The leader's guidance tour of Jagang Province in January Juche 87 (1998) offered a glimpse of his devotion to the people.

Despite the biting cold weather of midwinter he gave onsite guidance to many industrial establishments in the province. Those establishments, visited by him on the 16th alone, included Pukchon Power Station, a power station run by Janggang College of Agriculture and the 55 electricity-heated dwelling blocks in Janggang Township. The course of his guidance tour from the 16th to the 21st totaled more than 2 400 km.

With superhuman mental and physical energy, he continued his guidance tour day and night.

He traveled a long journey of guidance to Hamhung, Tanchon, Songgang, Ranam and Jagang Province regardless of weather conditions, rainy or sultry.

In the last three years alone before his demise, the leader visited nearly 1 000 establishments throughout the country.

Opera 'The Flower Girl' Staged 1500 Times

[nggallery id=65]40 years have passed since the revolutionary opera "The Flower Girl" gave its premiere before the great men of Mt. Paektu.

The famous art piece was created by President Kim Il Sung during the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. Through the destiny of a distress-torn family in exploitation society, it shows the truth that the revolutionary struggle is the only way out for the oppressed people.

Leader Kim Jong Il proposed to make the famous work "The Flower Girl" an exemplary "Sea of Blood"-style opera. He made sure that a powerful creative group was formed and gave detailed orientation and ways.

During the days of the creation of the opera Kim Jong Il gave full answers to the theoretical and practical problems including music, direction, stage arts, songs and acting on the stage.

The revolutionary opera completed under his energetic leadership gave its premiere on November 30, 1972 before President Kim Il Sung.

The Phibada Opera Troupe's 40-year long performing activities have made contributions to arousing the service personnel, working people of all social standings and school youth and children to the drive for building a thriving nation.

It gave hundreds of performances in foreign countries including China, Japan, France, Italy and Algeria, making the hot wind of the Korean opera rage across the world.

This year alone, the troupe gave at least 30 performances in Beijing, Shanghai and other parts of China, arousing great sensation among the audiences.

A meeting took place at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Friday. It was to mark the 40th anniversary of the premiere of the revolutionary opera "The Flower Girl" before Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

After the meeting the 1 500th performance of the opera was staged before full houses.
